My Story.....
I am originally from New York City and also lived in Brooklyn for 14 years, two places I will always love and miss. I also grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and New England. I worked as a professional chef and caterer for over 15 years in NY which I really loved and now I do mostly natural organic cooking. I have been living in Palm Beach County, Florida for the last 16 years and I love the beach! I am married to my husband Rolf for 34.5 years and going strong. We have 4 children and 2 grand-children.
My first birth was my son Cameron was by Cesarean Section. Tyler, born 8 years later was a natural vaginal birth. I am grateful for both of my birth experiences as they both taught me many things about myself, particularly that I could trust my body and that I should learn to listen to and trust my intuition. I am especially thankful that I did have the cesarean section since because of it I am able to help other women to also achieve the gift of a natural Vaginal Birth After Cesarean, VBAC.
I love to travel and in 2006 I had the privilege to travel to Capetown, So. Africa. Oh my goodness what an incredible experience! Such a beautiful place. It looks a little like San Francisco and Berkley Ca., the way the city rises up from the ocean and the bay. Capetown sits below Table Mountain and rises up from the Atlantic Ocean. The mountains are everywhere and just go on forever. I felt as if they wanted to tell me many stories. I guess I felt close to them because of the struggles that they have seen. I definitely hope to go back there one day. I have also been to many other places when I was younger which I am grateful for those experiences too. When we meet be sure to ask me about Rome and Germany! By the way my husband is from Germany in case you could not tell from the last name.
I have had several careers in my life but I think that this one of being a Doula is one that I will keep! It is my privilege to be a part of your birthing experience as your Doula. Thank you.
