You are having your first baby and you are scared but excited at the same time. You have done everything right. You read the books, asked all the right questions, ate healthy, exercised, avoided all the bad stuff, created a birth plan, discussed your concerns and wishes with your healthcare provider whom you felt you could trust and understood your needs…..And then you get to the hospital….. and you meet a doctor or certified nurse midwife that you don’t know very well or have never met at all. What do you do? What would you do? Well this happened to me and I did not know what to do or what really to expect when I got to the hospital except that they were going to care for me and by baby right? Do you think they want to do what is best for your or easy for them? Read my account of my first birth on my website at www.blissfulbirthingandbeyond.com. Find out how a normal labor and birth can easily be mismanaged and led down the road to cesarean section, leaving a woman to think that she failed, her body does not work and she failed her baby too. Educate yourself before you go. The more you know, the more options you have. Have your best birth by being fully informed. Know your rights as a Childbearing Woman!
